I have always love the show Grand Designs and have watched it for years. In the last few years, though, Swedish television has not shown any new episodes, they only do reruns and I think I must have watched every episode three or four times. Now I don’t have to, as Netflix has finally gotten season 11 and season 12 and I am soon through season 11. If you haven’t seen Grand Designs before it is a great tv-program about people that are building the houses of their dreams and every dream has unique style. They show the whole building process and also shows other buildings to inspire. I can absolutely recommend it. I wish I was one of these people, I can imagine how cool it must feel to be able to realize a dream.
Jag har alltid tyckts väldigt mycket om Grand Designs och jag har sett flera säsonger . På sistone är det samma säsonger som sänds om och om igen och jag tror att jag har sett varje avsnitt säkert tre eller fyra gånger. Men så härom dagen såg jag att säsongerna 11 och 12 har kommit till Netflix och jag började direkt att kolla och är snart igenom säsong 11. Om ni inte har sett programmet tidigare så handlar det om människor som bygger sina drömhus och varje dröm ser helt olika ut i stil. Man får följa hela byggandet och även liknande eller andra byggnader som inspirerar visas också. Jag kan absolut rekommendera det. Jag önskar däremot att jag var en av dessa människor, jag kan bara föreställa hur otroligt häftigt det måste kännas att kunna göra det.
This is one of my favourite objects from Grand Designs, a totally rebuilt cinema in South Yorkshire with an old facade in the front and a contemporary building in the back. It is the first episode of season 11.
This is the National Theatre in London that was designed by Denys Lasdun in the sixties, entirely in concrete. It is so beautiful and brutal at the same time.
I am afraid I have to stop writing now, the autoplay feature on Netflix has started another episode of Grand Designs…
