Nu måste jag tala om hur frustrerad jag ofta blir på IKEA, ändå fortsätter jag att åka dit kontinuerligt – så vad är det för fel på mig?! För ett tag sedan bestämde vi oss för att köpa nya ben till våra sängar och åkte till IKEA och köpte sängben i borstat stål. Nu när vi har semester och lite mer tid än vanligt bestämde vi oss för att det var dags att sätta dit dem. Vi monterade ner hela sovrummet, kändes det som, och tog bort de gamla fula träklossarna till ben som jag har ogillat länge. Kan ni då tänka er att det saknades monteringsjärn till de nya benen för att de skulle kunna fästas? Hos alla andra företag som säljer sängben ingår de men inte hos IKEA. Det är helt ok om det är så, men snälla IKEA, låt det då framgå tydligt att man måste köpa dem separat, istället för att som vi upptäcka det först när man har kommit hem med alla varorna.
I just have to tell you how frustrated I often get with IKEA, but still I keep going there from time to time so what is wrong with me?! Some time ago we went there because I wanted new legs for our beds and I bought eight legs in brushed steel that matches the legs of our Barcelona bench. Now, since we have started our vacation and have more time at our hands we decided to put the new legs and in doing that we kind of turned the bedroom upside down and started with removing the old legs. When we were going to put on the new legs we came to the realisation that we should have bought mounting brackets separately, but it did not say that anywhere on the package and at other companies those are naturally included.
Vi gav oss iväg så klart till IKEA som är flera mil bort från oss, även om tanken fanns att helt enkelt slänga sängbenen från IKEA och åka till ett annat möbelvaruhus och köpa helt nya. Vi kom ut med monteringsjärnen och en vagn full med andra saker och nu kom faktiskt nästa frustration.
Of course we drove to IKEA that is several tens of miles from where we live, even though the thought crossed my mind of throwing away the legs from IKEA and go till another furniture store and buy completely new ones but it felt so wasteful. When we came out from the IKEA store we had the brackets and a whole cart full of other stuff, as well, and here came the next frustration.
Jag har länge sneglat på deras golvlampa Stockholm 2017 i krom, med inbyggd dimmer och bestämde mig för att unna mig den nu när jag fått åka den onödiga resan. På kartongen står det att det ska vara en specialglödlampa, GX53 dimbar, med den rekommenderade styrkan 1000 lumen. Då visade det sig att en sådan lampa finns inte i IKEAs sortiment. Personalen rekommenderar istället en på 600 lumen som de intygar ska fungera. På väg mot bilen ser min kära man att lampan är inte dimbar, vi vänder då mot reklamationsdisken som då håller med om att lampan inte fungerar till den golvlampan.
I have glanced at their floor lamp Stockholm 2017 for a while, made in chrome with a built in dimmer and I decided to buy one to make up for the frustrating and unnecessary trip. The lamp needed a light bulb that was quite special and on the box of the lamp it was stated that it should be a GX53, at 1000 lumen and dimmable. Now braise yourselves, that kind of lamp is not among IKEAs products… How can they sell a lamp without selling the light bulb that they recommend?!! Staff in the store said they had one on 600 lumens that should work and was dimmable so we took that instead, but on the way to the car my husband saw that on the box of the light bulb it says it is not dimmable, as it had to be. We return to claims department and they agreed that the light bulb would not work for that particular lamp as it has a built-in dimmer.
Tjejen bakom disken hänvisar oss då till att handla en dimbar 600 lumen lampa på deras hemsida där den finns i lager. Dum som jag är åker jag hem med golvlampan utan att kunna tända den. När jag sedan tittar på IKEAs hemsida så är leveranstiden 15 dagar och fraktkostnad tillkommer.
The girl behind the counter says that they have a dimmable 600 lumen lamp online and that we could go home and order it on their website. Stupid me, I go home with a floor lamp that does not work yet. I check out their website and even if the product is in store it will take 15 days for me to get it delivered and cost of the freight will be added.
Jag bestämde mig för att inte gynna IKEA mer utan handlade min ljuskälla hos Lampgrossisten istället som skickar den direkt. Nu kommer det att dröja innan vi besöker ett IKEA-varuhus igen. Vi var dessutom inte de enda där som var frustrerade, ett par på tygavdelningen var riktigt förbannade då flera saker de skulle köpa antingen hade utgått eller tagit slut. Jag kan bara instämma med killens kommentar: – Vad åker man hit för, man är ju ändå aldrig nöjd när man går härifrån?!
I decided not to hand IKEA any more of my money and bought the light bulb from Lampgrossisten instead that will dispatch it to me the next day. It does not stop there, when we put on the legs for the bed one of them was even crooked – why am I not surprised? I e-mailed IKEA about my frustrations but have yet to receive any no response from them, so it will definitely take some time before I visit an IKEA store again. We where not the only ones that were frustrated, we met a couple at the department of textiles that was really aggravated. The things they were going to buy were either out of stock or discontinued. I can nothing but agree with the guy’s comment: – Why do we even bother going here, we are never satisfied when we leave the store?!
Nu är i alla fall sängbenen på plats om än att ett är krokigt, så klart! Det är ju IKEA så får vad du betalar för… Det är i alla fall skönt att de gamla träklossarna till ben är borta och nu har vi samma stil på benen som det är på vår Barcelona-bänk.
The legs on the bed are now in place, even though one of them is crooked, but since it is IKEA, you apparently get what you pay for. Anyhow, I must say that I like that the legs of the bed really match the ones on the Barcelona bench and it looks quite good, at the end of the day.
